 Szabolcs Fischer is a full professor at Department of Transport Infrastructure and Water Resources Engineering, Széchenyi István University, Győr, Hungary. He graduated in Civil Engineering (engineering structures and transport infrastructure) at the Széchenyi István Univerity in 2008, where he acquired his Ph.D. degree in the same field in 2012, moreover he obtained his habilitation in Civil Engineering in 2018. He graduated as a Professional Engineeer Certified in Economics in the Széchenyi István University in 2016.

He has been a member in the Editorial Board of the Acta Technica Jaurinensis journal since 2016 as an Editor.

He has been a member of Hungarian Chamber of Engineers since 2009, where he has several design and expert authorities. He has been a fellow of Association of Transport Sciences since 2011 as well as a member of member of public body of Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2013.

His referee activity is performed in several journals in MDPI, Elsevier and Springer, moreover conferences.

His research activity is oriented to development of elements of railway super- and substructure (railway ballast, fishplated joints, granular and cemented protection layers, etc.).
