Majid Movahedi Rad is an associate professor of Structural Engineering and Mechanics in the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at Széchenyi István University, Hungary. He earned a PhD from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2011. He gained his habilitation in Civil Engineering at Széchenyi István University in 2021.

Member of the editorial board of Acta Technica Jaurinensis. Reviewer of papers for various international journals including Computers and Geotechnics, Periodica Polytechnica Civil Engineering, Scientific Reports and Journal of Civil Engineering and Management.

His research has focussed on the optimization of structures, elastic-plastic analysis and design of structures and numerical simulation.
