Virtual Ticket Scheme for Dynamic Capacity Enhancement

Abstract

In this article we demonstrated how the dynamic capacity of the masstransportation systems could be enhanced cost effectively by the application ofcomputerized systems. The sketched solution utilizes the high Internetpenetration of the passenger community to by tickets. To provide requiredsecurity and trust for authorization we described cryptographic methods, whichcan be applied. Further we made suggestions to the format and physicalrealization of the tickets to provide fast and reliable data transfer at the onboard ticket control.
