Abstract

Forecasting the future patronage of (public transport) is difficult. Forecasting the patronage of a new mode of transport is harder. Earlier Time Series modelling is compared to the use of Generalised Costs. Worked examples are included. A case study from a real transport project is discussed to show how effective Generalised Cost modelling can be.
